Camera Obscura, also known as a pinhole image, is when an image of a scene at the opposite side of a screen is projected through a small hole in that screen as a reversed and inverted image on a surface opposite to the opening.
To create our Camera Obscura, we first gathered our needed equipment, A camera, a tripod, tape, tin foil, scissors and some water spray to use as an adhesive.
We then went into a store room within our college, with one window, and we proceeded to cover this window with the water spray, and we stuck strips of the tin foil onto the window, until it was fully covered, so no excess light could come through. |
Once the window was fully covered with the tin foil, we then cut a small hole in the centre of the tin foil, creating the pinhole, used to create a camera obscura.
We then turned off the lights and the image of the scene through the window was projected onto the wall facing the window, showing an inverted and flipped image of Lidl carpark. Two people from our class also decided to go out to the carpark and we could see their silhouettes on our camera obscura., which was rather fun and exciting. |
