Laminating is another technique that can incorporate textiles, and it is very simple.
We took a couple pieces of laminating paper, and opened it up. We then filled the contents of the laminating paper with magazine cut-outs, scraps of fabric, sequins, pressed foliage, thread and whatever else textile-related objects that we could find, creating a collage |

After we had arranged all of our pieces in the laminate sheet, we then took it over to the iron on the ironing board, and placed a bit of grease-proof paper on top of our laminate sheet, this is so it doesn't burn or damage our work or the iron.
We then dry-iron the laminate for a couple of seconds, making sure to get an even spread of the iron, to ensure each bit of the laminate adhesive sticks. If there was any clear pieces of laminate touching each other, that part of the laminate would be see-through, from both sides. We then turned off and wiped down the iron with an alcoholic wipe, to stop any risk of Covid-19. |
I think the laminating turned out very well, It was a very simple, yet effective technique and I would gladly do this again in the future.
I really enjoyed making and arranging the colour schemes for my pieces.
