Pauline Ellison is an illustrator who was born in Keighley, she studied at Bradford School of Art and she proceeded to go to Leicester and Cambridge colleges of art to pursue illustration. She works with watercolour. She is fond of flora and fauna. Her style of work focuses on tones and colour, and it is rather detailed. She had made various pieces of commission works and has even published her own book, Grimm's Fairy Tales, in 1981.
Personally, I really love he style. Her bright and vivid colours really make her pieces of work very eye-catching, and the anthropomorphic animals were really well thought out. I admire the personality that she managed to give each animal and the variety of different outfits suit very well in my opinion. Her aesthetic reminds me of vintage classical storybooks, and her pieces of work make me feel very cosy. |
