I personally chose Contrast as my theme, as I find when things have a lot of contrast, they stand out and are very pleasing to the eye. I really liked the contrast that our light painting's had, as there would often be a dark room with the bright light of the torch, this made all of your attention go onto the light parts of the photograph, which I find very interesting, so I decided to take light painting, and try it from my own approach.
I went around the streets of Belfast at nighttime when we had a few errands to run, and took all of my photographs through the window of the car. There was a nice variety of lighting, from streetlamps, car lights, street signs to Christmas decorations. This was a perfect time of year to take these photographs, as if it weren't for the many Christmas lights, I probably wouldn't have came out with such a nice selection of photographs. |

I had my camera set on TV (Time Value) so I could control the shutter speed, In this case I set it at a 2 second exposure, to ensure I allowed enough light into the image, as well as to allow the light to form a trail, as it traveled across the frame.
I also set my ISO to 6400, to help brighten my image, as I was working in the dark.
